Good morning! Today’s update is a reminder about an important event for all translators and interpreters working and studying throughout the Carolinas: the 26th Annual CATI Conference!
This year’s conference will be held at Cape Fear Community College in Castle Hayne, near Wilmington, on this Saturday, April 27. A host of topics will be discussed, including tips for interpreters, literary translation, and memory tools.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. James Nolan, whose keynote address is entitled “Interpreting in the International Arena.” Dr. Nolan’s distinguished career has included interpretation work for the United Nations as well as 30 years’ worth of interpretation, translation, and language services managing in general. He has also taught courses in translation and interpretation at several universities, including his current course on legal translation for New York University’s online Master’s program in translation.
